Country Bank Internet Banking uses the best available technology to ensure that your personal information remains secure.

  1. Account numbers are not displayed. Instead of displaying account numbers, each account is given a pseudo name that can be changed by the customer at any time.
  2. Social Security numbers and Tax Identification numbers are not displayed. To keep these numbers confidential a row of X's appear in the place of the numbers.
  3. Identification Number and PIN protect you. Only your valid Identification Number and PIN will allow you to sign on to Internet Banking. If these numbers are incorrectly entered three times in a row the account will be locked to prohibit any further entries.
  4. The system has an Automatic Log-off feature. After 10 minutes of inactivity on the online system, your session will be terminated and you will be automatically signed off.
  5. Data is protected by encryption. Encryption is a means of scrambling information for transmission, in this case between your PC and the Bank's computing systems.

128-bit encryption is the most secure form of encryption that is generally available in Internet browsers on the market in North America today. We require that our customers use 128-bit encryption when conducting financial transactions over the Internet. However, Country Bank does not guarantee security of information transmitted over the Internet.

Two browsers that support the use of 128-bit encryption are various versions of Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer.

When sending any application information online this site automatically switches to a secure mode. This is evident by the "https" that will appear in the url as opposed to "http."

  • If you are using Internet Explorer, when browsing securely you will see a locked padlock at the bottom of your screen, which looks like this:
  • In Netscape Communicator, when browsing securely the browser will display a locked padlock at the bottom left of its open window, which looks like this:
  • In Netscape Communicator, when browsing insecurely that padlock appears unlocked, like this:

Additional Security
Do not share your Identification Number or PIN with anyone. You will be able to change both the Identification Number and PIN anytime you choose through the internet banking system. In addition, you will be required by the system to change your PIN every 180 days. If at any time you feel that someone else is compromising your online information, please contact us immediately. Country Bank will not be liable for any breach of security.
